Introduction

This is a blog set up for my environmental studies class in Transition Year. Here I will be talking about beauty and fashion trends across the world because it is one of the things that is incredibly universal and geographical.

Western beauty culture is well known to most of us and most aspects of it probably don't seem that strange to us.
Beauty and fashion trends in Western culture is generally tanned skin, blonde hair, being slim, having a thigh gap, etc.
But in other parts of the world there are beauty and fashion trends that seem incredibly weird to some of us. Some of these trends are traditions dating back centuries, like the Kayan Lawhi neck rings in Burma,

and some are far more recent trends like the Mexican pointy boots.

...and don't even get me started on all the fashion trends in Japan, that country is a gold mine.

So thanks for visiting my blog :)
