JAPAN

Japan is well known for it's bizarre fashion trends, that overall give off a cartoonish, manga vibe. Upon investigation though, Japan's fashion world has whole cultures and subcultures all with their own various fashion markings.

GANGURO

Generally seen to be rebelling from the usual fashion culture in Japan. Their trademarks are deeply tanned skin and hair from shades of orange to blonde or a silver grey colour called "high bleach". They wear a lot of black eyeliner, white lipstick and eyeshadow and often large false eyelashes.
They wear a lot of bracelets, rings and necklaces and have bright and colourful outfits to set off the look. They also wear very high platform shoes.

This was a short lived trend from 2003-2004. This group bought animal outfits from the costumes section of stores and also wore cartoon animal bags. Personally I think it looks like they are just wearing awesome onesies as normal clothes.

AS WELL AS ALL OF THAT...

BAGEL HEADS

Don't worry, its not a botched botox, it's saline. The procedure takes around two hours to complete and 400cc of saline. The saline is injected into the forehead to form a large blob and then moulded with fingers to create a bagel shape. The trend first arrived in Japan in 2007 after it began in Canada. It had a revival in 2014 and is currently quite popular.
Luckily, these injections aren't permanent and the bagels are gone in about 16 hours after the body absorbs all the saline.

YAEBA TEETH

Yaeba (snaggletooth) are a sign of beauty in Japan. I think the idea is that it gives off a childish look. Many celebrities have Yaeba, including the fiancé of the next Emperor. It's so popular that there are even procedures to get Yaeba teeth. Caps are put onto straight teeth to make them longer and slightly crooked. This also means that less people are getting braces as they want to maintain their yaeba teeth.

CATSCATSCATSCATSCATS

Japan has long since been associated with cat fashion and here's another one:
A BODY CONTROLLED CAT TAIL. A Japanese company called neurowear has created the Shippo(tail). I could explain it...or I could show you the ad-
